Rachel Bright has turned the art of optimism and the important business of never taking life too seriously into the multi-million selling card and gift empire, The Brightside.
An artist, poet and modern philosopher at heart, and a slightly-risk-averse entrepreneur in mind, she has taken a love for words and turned it into an instantly recognisable and contagiously witty voice in a crowded market place. And she did it all slightly sideways in less than 6 years.
A prolific children’s book author and illustrator, she has published six picture books to date with Penguin and Harper Collins and is currently riding the exciting bucking bronco of a rapidly changing publishing industry.
In a fun and fast-paced forty-five minutes, she will share her thoughts on making a living from dreaming, learning how to think upside-down and how to shout loud to the world about what you do without being annoying.*

For this month only we will move the event to the stunning new Co-working space at the Guild Hall. This includes a large cafe space, hot and permanent desk space, quiet work space, meeting rooms, a media room and telephone kiosks. It is all purpose built to serve the creative industry and so is definately a venue worth checking out.
Arrive well before our 6.30pm talk and enjoy tea, coffee, cake and a tour of the facility. On the day attendees will also get details of how to take advantage of two day's free desk space.
The evening starts in the cafe with networking from 5.30pm. The talk starts at 6.30 and finishes by 7.30pm.
